Individual State results
Red Oak had 16 students who competed in 24 events in Nevada. They did an phenomenal job and I am so very proud of each of them.
Receiving straight ones (all three judges gave them the highest score of a one):
• Brad Black in both improv and acting
• Bevin Griffen in after dinner speaking
• NyLea Pafford in both storytelling and lit program
• Kathryn Rooker in both prose and lit program
• Maggie Bennett in both lit program and public address
• Laura Butz in solo musical theatre
• Angelica Cerda in acting
• Donnie Torbett in solo musical theatre
• Leatha Bennett in prose
Receiving an overall one rating (two judges gave them a one and one judge gave them a two):
• Angelica Cerda in storytelling
• Ellen Fellers in after dinner
• Jessa Davis in poetry
Receiving an overall two rating (two judges gave them a two and one judge gave them a one):
• Bevin Griffen in solo musical theatre
• DJ Reich in original oratory
• Geoff Sellers in improv
• Ellen Fellers in prose
• Travis Schon in prose

• Jeannie Kort in expository address
• Geoff Sellers in acting
• Nick Black in review
They are such an amazing group of students and it's been an honor to work with each of them. We had an amazing senior group this year - in both large group and individual. They will definitely be missed next year. Several of those seniors I have worked with in both the fall play and speech for four years, and that always makes it tough to say goodbye to them. I could not be prouder of all of these students.

Individual Speech Schedule – Saturday March 9, 2013
Nevada High
School
This is the tentative
schedule for our performers. Times may
change as centers move more quickly or more slowly. There may also be drops along the way, which
will move your performance time up. If
your parents or anyone else is coming to watch, please tell them to be early.
You should also be checking your center periodically to see where they are in
the schedule. Our school codes are 137
for high school and 114 for 9th grade. Nevada’s middle school and high school are
connected, so they are using rooms in both buildings. If the room number has an MS in front of it,
the room will be in the Middle School.
Please keep in mind
that this schedule makes it completely impossible for me to see everyone – even
with Ms. Reeve’s help. I will get to as
many as I can!
