CALLING FOR PICTURES -- AGAIN :)

If any of you have ANY pictures from Large Group or Individual Speech, please send them to me as I would like to use them for a project I'm going to do for our end of the year banquet. We don't know when we're going to do the banquet yet -- it'll be where we give out letter-winners and everything. I will be sending out more information as soon as things are decided. But I'd love the pictures ASAP so that I can get the project done -- the end of the year will be here before we know it! YIKES!!! Thanks so much!!!!

You can email them to my school address: hornl@roschools.com. Sometimes that email address doesn't like attachments, so if you would also send them to the email I set up for this blog that'd be great! That email address is rohsspeech@gmail.com.

Thanks again! :)

Individual State Speech Results

What can I say, other than Speech Kids ROCK!!! You all did a phenomenal job yesterday and I am so incredibly proud of you!!! I knew I had the best kids in the State, and yesterday just proved it. Not just the results, but the way you all conducted yourselves at Glenwood. No one can possibly be prouder of you than I am (besides your parents and families, of course!) :) I love my job - honestly, I love my job as speech coach and you guys are the reasons why. Thank you for making this such a terrific season!!! ENJOY YOUR BREAK!!!! :) Okay, on to results! :)

This has been a record-breaking year with more students going out for Large Group and Individual Speech than ever before. We've also had more students qualify for State in Large Group and Individual than ever before, more students qualify for State in both their events, and today's Individual State results were the best showing Red Oak has had since I started as a coach five years ago. Congratulations you guys on a phenomenal year! :)

Information about Saturday March 13
(yes, that’s TOMORROW!!!!)

* Vans leave school at 7:00 am. We have several students going right away and we’ve never been to Glenwood’s school before, so we need to make sure we have time to find centers.
* Schedules were already handed out – please let parents and others who may be coming to watch that our school code is 313.
* Bring money for any food – including lunch. We will be eating at the school. We may be going somewhere after everyone is done – it is the state speech experience :)
* I do not know yet when we will be leaving. We have to wait until the last person’s ratings are posted for me to get the comment sheets.
* Do not plan on leaving with parents unless there is a prior commitment. You need to let me know ahead of time, please. There are papers you have to have your parent sign. It’s important to stay to encourage and support your teammates.
* Parents are encouraged to attend if at all possible. There is a suggested $3 entrance fee for non-competitors.
* Please remember there is to be ABSOLUTELY NO cameras in the performance rooms. THE STATE OFFICE DOES NOT ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHS OR VIDEO TO BE TAKEN.
* I will have your comment sheets and black paper. If you need to have anything fixed before Saturday, see me now! :)
